The Engineering News Record's (ENR) annual ranking of the world's Top 225 Global Contractors has been published recently, and shows that the fastest growing bloc of national contractors that have increased their dominance in global construction are from the Peoples Republic of China. Six out of the top ten ranked according to total contracting revenues are from China as follows;

6) China State Construction Engineering Corp (CSCEC)
7) China Communications Construction Group
8) Grupo ACS (Spain)
9) China Metallurgical Group Corp
10)Bechtel (USA)
The picture is different if you look at ENR's other main list, the TOP 225 International Contractors according to contracting revenue outside the home country. Here European firms still dominate;

Chinese companies, however, form a bloc starting at number 17, with the most significant upward surge in the top 100 meaning that if this were an Olympic sport, China would win gold.
